So, the man across the water is a character I had created who became something more than I expected. A man who will officially get his own story.

The book is in the works. The first few chapters are done, so hang in there. I'm planning a summer release. A late summer release.

There’s a strange mix of excitement and unease that comes with finally releasing something you’ve carried for so long. This book has lived in my head, on my screen, and in countless rewrites for years, and now it’s out in the world, where it doesn’t belong to just me anymore. That’s thrilling but also intimidating in a way that’s hard to put into words. You hope people connect with it, see what you were trying to do… and maybe even find more in it than you realized you put there.

There's a big nod to 2001: A Space Odyssey. That one’s a bit more obvious. But there’s another reference tucked away. It's quieter, easy to miss. It’s just a short scene, nothing flashy, but it means a lot to me. It’s a small homage to my favorite movie. I won’t spell it out, but I’ll give you a hint: think superhero.
